In a move that is sure to impact individuals throughout the State, the NJ has passed a bill that requires palimony agreements to be in writing to be enforceable. Until the full bill is reviewed, it is unclear if it will be retroactively applied. If it is, the consequences will be harsh. Frankly, it is mind boggling how the State legislature has acted with a callous disregard for individual rights in both the passage of this bill and the rejection of the same-sex marriage bill.
